Three Earlwood dogs who know how to enjoy a day out

There’s a certain moment our dog walkers know well. You pull up outside a house, a familiar face appears at the gate and suddenly someone’s day has become a whole lot more exciting.

For many of the dogs we walk around Earlwood, their outings become a favourite part of the weekly routine. It’s a chance to get out of the house, burn some energy, see their doggy mates and spend a good chunk of the day doing what dogs do best.

Our dog walking and doggy daycare in Earlwood also helps local families fit their dog’s exercise and social time around busy workdays, school runs and everything else life manages to squeeze in.

Paddy, Bluebird and Aldo are three Earlwood locals we’ve come to know very well. They all enjoy their outings a little differently, which is exactly how we like it.

Paddy: running, wrestling and then a very long nap

Paddy is a one-year-old Bernedoodle with plenty of energy and absolutely no shortage of enthusiasm when it comes to spending time with his friends.

Both Mum and Dad are doctors, which can mean some long days at work. Paddy joins us for regular group dog walks and, when those workdays stretch out a little longer, he comes along for doggy day care too.

Being only one, Paddy still has plenty of puppy energy to burn. Luckily, he knows exactly how he’d like to spend it. Running is good. Play-wrestling with his mates is even better.

He’s a very social guy who loves getting involved, whether that means tearing around the park with a friend or finding someone equally enthusiastic about a good wrestle.

For a young dog, all that excitement could easily get the better of him, but Paddy is also a good listener. He’s young and playful while still paying attention when it matters, which makes his outings much easier for everyone involved.

On the longer days, our doggy day care gives Paddy even more opportunity to get out, exercise and socialise while Mum and Dad are at work.

By the time he gets home, the transformation is usually complete. The energetic Bernedoodle who was ready to run and wrestle earlier in the day is suddenly very interested in sleeping the afternoon away. And there he’ll stay until Mum or Dad walks through the door.

For families working long hours, that’s one of the reasons doggy daycare in Earlwood can work so well. Paddy gets a day filled with exercise and company, then heads home ready for some serious downtime.

Bluebird enjoys our dog walking and doggy day care services in Earlwood

Bluebird: ready and waiting at the gate

Bluebird is a two-and-a-half-year-old groodle who joins us for group walks twice a week.

Life at home can get pretty busy. Both of her mums are teachers and there are two young kids in the family too, so Bluebird’s walks give her dedicated time each week to get out of the house and enjoy an adventure of her own.

Not that Bluebird needs much encouragement to come with us.

The moment we arrive at the gate, she jumps for joy.

There’s no playing it cool or pretending she hasn’t noticed us. Bluebird knows what’s happening, and she is ready to go.

Once she gets to the park, one of her favourite games is simple: get one of her mates to chase her.

For Bluebird, being pursued around the park by another dog is apparently about as good as life gets. She gets to run, play and socialise before heading home having put all that groodle energy to good use.

Her twice-weekly dog walking in Earlwood has become part of the family routine. While everyone else gets on with work, school and everything happening at home, Bluebird has her own plans for the day.

And judging by the welcome we get at the gate, she knows exactly which days those plans are happening.

Aldo enjoys our dog walking and doggy day care services in Earlwood

Aldo: doing things his own way

Aldo is a Lagotto who has been joining our group walks for around two years now. He’s also a good reminder that enjoying a group walk doesn’t mean every dog needs to spend the whole time playing with everyone they see.

Aldo likes to do things his own way.

There’s plenty of sniffing to be done, after all. There might be an occasional burst of zoomies if the mood strikes. And when it comes to choosing a playmate, Aldo has standards.

He’s quite happy exploring independently until the right friend comes along. But when that particular dog turns up at the park, things change quickly.

That’s part of getting to know a dog over time. Some want constant play and interaction, while others are perfectly content taking in their surroundings and deciding for themselves when they want to join the action.

Aldo gets the social side of a group outing without needing to be the centre of everything happening around him. He can sniff, explore, have his zoomies and choose when it’s time for a game.

For us, that’s exactly how it should be. Our dog walking service isn’t about forcing every dog into the same routine. It’s about getting to know their personality and helping them enjoy their time out in a way that suits them.
